My name is Dennis Landskroener. I spent 6 years in the Air Force stationed at Tinker AFB just outside of Oklahoma City. I was a 2E251 Computer, network, cryptographic, and switching systems journeyman while serving. During my years in I was able to go to Guyana on a humanitarian deployment, followed by trips to Iraq(Tallil AB) and Afghanistan(Bagram AB).
I knew upon separation that I qualified for the GI bill benefits, but chose not to use them due to being hired at a job that paid well. It wasn’t until my wife passed away in 2011 that I decided to make a change in my life and come back to the school I attended prior to enlistment. I utilized the veteran’s resource center here and there for the first two semesters that I was back in school. It wasn’t until fall 2012 that I really began my involvement in the SVO. My first experience in volunteering was at the 2012 Christmas card sale. From there my involvement continued to evolve to the point that I became a work study in 2013 and subsequently an officer for this great organization. It’s my pleasure to be able to help out my fellow vets when I can.
