Thiessalyn Trice

My name is Thiessalyn Trice and I served in the United States Army as a Respiratory Therapist for eleven years. I was stationed at Fort Benning, Ga for seven of those years. I have been to a lot of countries during my time in service. I deployed to Iraq in October 2005. It was a scary yet fulfilling experience for me. I attained the rank of Sergeant before transitioning into the civilian community.

I am a junior majoring in Accounting. I am set to graduate in 2015 and hope one day to have my own business. I am glad I decided to come to Wayne State University Fall of 2012. I love math and especially doing taxes so accounting fits me well. I made the Dean’s list my first semester at Wayne State University. Currently I serve as the secretary of the Student Veterans Organization on campus, which is welcome to all WSU military veterans. Due to the help of peer mentors and involvement with the Student Veterans organization I had a smooth transition from active duty to college. I hope to facilitate a smooth transition for others here at WSU. Please don’t hesitate to contact me or stop by the office with questions or concerns.
