I served as a Jet Engine Mechanic in the United States Marine Corps from March of 2005 until March of 2010. Before coming to Wayne State University, I received college credits through my military training as well as any available college courses offered while serving. Once discharged, I tried to find work with no luck. I have attended a few different community colleges and universities. I am currently seeking a Bachlors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. My experiences in the Marine Corps kept me eager to stay active in a cohesive group of student veterans.
The camaraderie of a life in military service is something that I uniquely share with my fellow veterans here at WSU. The opportunity to continue to serve with my fellow veterans as a student led me to become the President of the Student Veterans Organization.
